The Senior Workplace Planner is a member of the HR and Workplace Organization. You are a part of a complex team that oversees lease administration, real estate transactions, facilities, project management and planning for all our offices worldwide. This position is primarily accountable for keeping our global projects on track with the development of project and employee engagement plans. In addition to gathering business requirements for project implementation. Close collaboration with our Sr. Project Managers, Senior Leaders, Workplace Excellence Team, Facilities and Transaction teams.
The Workplace Planning group is responsible for development of workplace occupancy strategies that are aligned with business objectives for the company. Work with senior management to understand business unit’s plans and develop innovative strategies that support occupancy requirements and associated timelines. Success in this position hinges on the ability to translate broad business and operating issues into effective operational real estate plans.
Develop strategies for short- and long-term real estate and space plans, that are cost effective to implement, can be delivered in a timely manner and are accurate to meet the needs of the business unit.
Provide tactical and strategic plans to meet short and long-term space requirements for each business unit and the corporation within the assigned Geo.
Produces drawings and presentations for internal stakeholder(s) and client facing business leaders (Workplace Managers, Business Unit Directors, Leadership, etc.)
Responsible for programming and design of new and existing office spaces. Project coordination with project managers, architects, MEP design team, furniture, IT and operations team for all office projects for Symantec. Programming will be aligned with Symantec’s Global Workplace guidelines.
Produce occupancy reporting in the way of stacking plans, real estate performance reports, allocation plans and regular occupancy data to inform RE leadership and keep updated on occupancy performance against defined targets.
Utilize and update the CAFM occupancy data for assigned locations. Update building drawings, perform regular audits and update occupancy changes to ensure the accuracy of occupancy data.
Collaborate with peers in other regions to assure consistency and best practices globally
Manage multiple simultaneous planning projects.
Possess strong communication skills to work with Symantec employees at all levels of the organization.
Continually monitor customer requests and support move /service requests. Coordination to complete request with Workplace team members and vendors.
BA in Architecture, Interior Design or Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Workplace Planning, corporate environment preferred
Solid business judgment
Must be able to travel domestic and potentially international for site verifications, program requirements and business relationship management
Must be self-directing and able to adapt to quickly to changing conditions
Excellent communication skills, includes verbal, written and presentation forms. Strong influence skills, including presenting and communicating effectively with all levels of management and technical staff
Ability to maximize contribution from both external and internal resources
Proficient in AutoCAD and capable of producing multiple space planning scenarios or test fits using AutoCAD
Experience working with CAFM/IWMS applications, knowledge of Centerstone a plus
