JMT is seeking a Construction Manager to act as the owner's agent in support of a federal contract in Baltimore, MD. The construction contract involves the preservation of asphalt pavement roads including minor pavement repair, minor surface drainage repair, new pavement striping, and crack sealing. The Construction Manager/Inspector will be responsible for coordinating the contractor's construction efforts working closely with the owner's contract representatives. The work shall be performed first at Fort McHenry in Baltimore City then at Hampton National Historic Site in Towson. This is full-time from September 2018 through the end of paving season in the Fall of 2018 to be competed in the Spring of 2019.
Knowledge of and experience with construction practices directly related to thin overlays typically used in pavement preservation projects, such as slurry seals and chip seals
Certifications related to the construction practices and inspection of highway construction materials including asphalt paving and surfacing products
Knowledge of and experience with mix designs and sampling and testing procedures related to surfacing products such as slurry seals and chip seals
Education leading to or equivalent to a Construction Management Degree or Engineering Degree
Prior experience working with Federal Government Project Managers/CORs on processing change requests, requests for information, submittals, and field observation reports
Prior experience with resource protection measures required by government agencies to avoid and minimize construction related adverse impacts to natural and cultural resources
OHSA 30 Certification
CMAA or PMP Certification or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
