The Senior Lab Architect/Engineer is the champion for developing, maintaining, and communicating laboratory, Purdue Animal Care and Use Committee (PACUC), and related standards for the University. Prioritize deferred repair and rehabilitation needs and provide strategic master planning for campus laboratory and PACUC systems. Participate in building condition assessment program. Provide professional oversight of laboratory and general design for in-house and capital projects. Review and critique outside architect/engineer design documents for adherence to applicable codes, Purdue standards, and best practice. Assist Project Engineering group as needed. Provide expertise and recommendations on general building issues.

Required:
BA/BS in Architecture or Engineering.
Registered Professional Engineer or Architect in the State of Indiana or must obtain Indiana Registration within 90 days of employment.
Six years of architecture or engineering design/management experience as a registered engineer or architect with new construction and renovation work.
Previous experience in laboratory design, management or planning.
Word-processing and spreadsheet development.
Demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between multiple parties and proven understanding of construction method and techniques.
Demonstrated understanding of complex and varied building systems.
Strong work and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of appropriate state and federal building codes.
Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read construction drawings.
A valid US or Canadian driver's license.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a University setting.
Additional Information:
