Job Description:
We are now looking for an Architect for Performance Engineering for the NVIDIA GPU Cloud to help us solve the most complex system-level performance problems when we accelerate the most demanding Deep Learning workloads and drive industry-leading price/performance.
Nvidias invention of the GPU 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI the next era of computing with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as the AI computing company. We are looking to grow our company, and grow with the smartest people in the world.
Academic and commercial groups around the world are powering a revolution in artificial intelligence using deep learning techniques running on NVIDIA GPUs, enabling breakthroughs in the most complex problems from autonomous driving to medial image processing to natural language processing.
What
you
will
be
doing:
As a hands-on architect, you will build a performance strategy for NVIDIAs GPU cloud. Deep learning workloads tend to push the limits of both commercially available and open source compute, network and storage infrastructure.
You leverage your understanding of deep learning workloads and your very deep systems engineering expertise to identify bottlenecks across the different layers of the stack as well as across compute, network and storage while minimizing the cost of the hardware.
Prototype Software enhancements in various subsystems to demonstrate potential performance gains
You provide both short-term solutions for performance problems as well as defining a multi-year performance roadmap to anticipate upcoming bottlenecks
Specify hardware architectures and configurations optimized for deep learning workloads
What
we
need
to
see:
10 years of experience solving challenging system-level performance issues
Experience formulating and executing on technical roadmaps and strategies.
Deep understanding of cloud architectures including cost
Highly motivated with a consistent record of end-to-end solutions for complex performance issues
Excellent communication skills and experience working across teams.
Deep knowledge of software prototyping skills (C, GO)
Ability to influence and lead extraordinary engineering teams.
Masters or PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
Ways
to
stand
out
from
the
crowd:
Experience with data-parallel and/or accelerated computing (CUDA, OpenCL)
Working knowledge of machine learning algorithms and software frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, etc.)
NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology worlds most desirable employers. We have some of the most brilliant and talented people on the planet working for us. If you're creative and autonomous, we want to hear from you!
