Its talented corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation - from concept initiation through installation - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects.

What we're looking for...

A Production Designer Intern who will ensure that the content and integrity of the concept is maintained throughout the design, production and installation process. The demands of this role require an in-depth understanding of the creative intent and the ability for realizing it through the effective execution of the themed design process. The Production Designer is the overall representative of the themed design team interfaces and is responsible for supporting their interests and sharing their efforts.

Responsibilities

You will...

Confirm design interface with Creative, Environmental Design & Engineering and Show Design and Production disciplines

Partner with dimensional design team in model efforts

Confirm design intent with Show Set Lead

Confirm scope details in preparation for reviews of all show design documents

Support mock-up and staging efforts as required

Provide day-to-day support to production and installation crews

Oversee Show Set vendor fabrication efforts

Basic Qualifications

What you bring to the role...

Experience in theater, theme park design, production and installation

Appreciation for an integrated design experience with multiple disciplines

Must be able to read architectural drawing packages

Experience with Revit

Experience with Sketch up and Auto Cad

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, i.e. Photoshop

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Rhino and Maya

Required Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in theater, fine arts, architecture, interior or environmental design or related field

Internship Eligibility:

Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Must provide full work availability

Must provide own transportation to/from work

Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)

***MUST POSSESS VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE***

Program Length:

The approximate dates of this internship are June 2018 through January 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
