Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Architectural Designer for employment in the Houston, TX office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available to you, including webinars and on-line programs.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.

Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.

Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.

Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.

Under direct supervision, may complete design assignments of limited complexity.

Limited familiarity with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

Introduced to the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards and procedures.

Basic understanding of the purpose and use of vendor documents.

Introduced to the process of performing material take-offs for the discipline.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Must have an Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Master's in Architecture preferred.

0-2 years of professional experience preferred.

Must demonstrate proficiency in using Revit Architecture.

Ability to use ACAD, Photoshop, SketchUp or other 3D Modeling, Animation, Rendering computer graphics programs a plus.

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
