This position is responsible for the efficient and effective master scheduling of the operation’s three business units (Wishbone, Foodservice, and Tea).
Support the planning and distribution departments in safety, efficiency, loss management, quality and continuous improvement. Develop, analyze, and monitor multi-week master production schedules. Develop and maintain cost efficient, detailed master schedules. Monitor open orders and inventory quantities/DOH. Establish minimum inventory levels based on forecasted sales. Develop Master Scheduling business process; establish planning cycle and time horizons. Maintain inventory levels based on customer demand; manage inventory to minimize the amount of distressed product. Establish and maintain target inventory levels for items manufactured to stock, incorporating the latest information on usage and replenishment times. Create master schedules to establish sequence and lead times of each operation to meet and shorten shipping dates to order requirements. Communicate production schedules across all Plant and Corporate functions regularly. Effectively communicate scheduling exceptions to Supply Planning. Meet daily with operations supervision to reconcile priorities and to present remedies at operations meetings; communicate regularly with other departments such as Corporate, Quality Assurance, Shipping, Receiving, and Supply Planning with regards to meeting customer demand. Work with manufacturing and customer service to schedule all production areas to meet customer needs. Identify and communicate current and potential problems and opportunities to the management team to enable appropriate decisions. Interface and coordinate between manufacturing, planning, and finance departments regarding schedule requirements and changes. Utilize SAP to analyze production requirements and plant capacity to determine appropriate manufacturing processes, materials, and line staffing requirements. Develop supply strategies (make to stock) and SAP planning parameters for manufactured SKU’s. Utilize SAP to release daily manufacturing orders scheduled. Utilize SAP system to maintain all planning parameters, review and manage to resolution all exceptions. Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of the SAP PP and MM modules. Extract and analyze production data in SAP to support decision-making. Resolve demand/supply/capacity issues; work capability issues with plant and corporate teams. Based on forecasts from Sales, manage and communicate the capacity plan of the facility for production planning (material, equipment and labor) purposes. Compile and report weekly/monthly schedule metrics. Review actual Production data and take necessary actions to increase production capabilities or initiate necessary schedule changes. Monitor production performance versus plan and analyze all variations for root cause. Communicate with appropriate Departments to resolve findings and improve process. Lead daily and weekly production meetings with department representatives. Operations customer service liaison for the plant. Participate in cost reduction, process improvement and quality improvement teams.
Ability to multi-task proactively and re-prioritize on a daily basis to accommodate the changing business requirements. Ability to organize and manage time effectively. Ability to make quick decisions while collaboratively analyzing and pinpointing problems. Strategically influencing to gain support for desired process changes.
SAP (Planning, Production, and Warehouse transactions). Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP. InterSpec. Superior proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access). Shipping Order System. Defective Materials Reporting (DMR) System. Lean Manufacturing and Lean Supply Chain Techniques.
Utilization of the available resource tools (SAP, InterSpec, and internal departmental tools) in formulating executable production plans. Coordinate with other departments in achieving inventory and production plans. Plan flexibility to adapt to the necessary changes in executing the business plan. Strong planning, scheduling and negotiating skills.

1-plus years demonstrated production planning experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP) in a manufacturing facility. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field required.
