We have an exciting opportunity for a CA licensed EAS Architectural Manager to be responsible for the proper management and control of the scope of services as defined in a contract document, as well as the development and growth of the EAS architectural team. This position may oversee multiple, large and complex projects. As an EAS Architectural Manager, this position will continue to be responsible for the licensed Architectural job duties while ensuring company standards and values are maintained on each project. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs leads and is accountable in all phases of a project.
Supports and implements Kitchell’s project management processes and ensures work is executed in accordance with our standards and values.
Assists in preparation and negotiation of owner contracts and ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished.
Manages the staffing and compensation of direct reports in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assists in the procurement of sub-consultant services and administers contracts.
Prepares project budget, maintains cost control information, identifies cost impacts and provides recommendations for cost control.
Prepares project schedule, assesses any delays and enforces schedule conformance.
Performs professional design and constructability review and value engineering analysis and review.
Monitors and evaluates team performance to ensure conformance with schedule, budget and contractual requirements.
Implements and maintains effective systems of communication within and outside the project to ensure constructive relationships and the adequate flow of information.
Ensures effective control of submittals and requests for information.
Manages project job costs in accordance with Kitchell budget, updates forecasting and assists in processing monthly billings to ensure profit objectives are achieved.
Enforces orderly project closeout efforts and organization of project documentation.
Identifies and manages risk on the project, and advises and confers with EAS Operations Manager prior to implementing risk mitigation actions.
Maintains effective and professional relationships with internal and external clients.
Supports and participates in business development and marketing efforts including the preparation of proposals and presentations.
Actively participates on internal teams that focus on continuous improvement of the company.
Ensures workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and enforces rules fairly and uniformly.
Coaches employees while proactively guiding the training and professional development of direct reports.
Facilitates and ensures the continuous and effective execution of the performance management process for direct reports.
Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
State of California Architect or Professional Engineer license required.
Minimum 8-10 years progressive and position related work experience in architecture, engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years related work experience managing two or more employees preferred.
LEED Professional Accreditation preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of advanced architecture, engineering and construction management related processes, as well as industry practices.
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards required.
Effective computer skills including proficient use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint DWG Viewer, AutoCAD LT, Photoshop and specialized software appropriate to professional qualification required; and scheduling database (P6) software preferred.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to foster and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Effective organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and plan work.
Ability to gather and interpret technical or abstract data to resolve extraordinarily difficult and uncommon problems.
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Ability to manage a team of professionals in the production of quality projects delivered on time and within budget.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment.
Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions and cramped quarters.
