The Manager of Facilities and Operations will be responsible for the direction and management of personnel, finances, fiscal planning, development and implementation of programs, policies & procedures related to the maintenance, repair, changes and additions to the hospital physical plant and grounds, as well as utility services (HVAC, plumbing and electrical). Responsiblefor the monitoring of all essential building systems to assure systems areoperating correctly and efficiently. Such systems include: electrical,mechanical & plumbing. Manageand prioritize maintenance and repair needs and work with vendors to coordinatemaintenance and repair when outsourcing is necessary. Responsiblefor VFA, as part of this program the Manager will make recommendations to theUniversity Leadership of facilities renewal deficiencies and required businessupgrades, in addition to maintaining the appearance and safe environmentalconditions throughout the Hospital. Managing,coordinating and improving existing operations of the Plant Operations. Theprimary goal to ensure that the department not only runs smoothly but is alsocurrent and up-to date in their operations with respect to information andtechnology. It is the incumbent responsibility to insure successful performanceof these operations and to solve problems as they arise. Establishand maintain a quality control program within Plant Operations to monitorproductivity and efficiency. Managea preventive maintenance CMMS program to reduce recurring maintenance costs andto maintain the overall infrastructure of the building. In-depthknowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relating tothe field of Plant Operations. Responsiblefor ensuring that all Joint Commission guidelines for the Physical Environmentof Care standards are met. Responsiblefor ensuring all AHCA, NFPA, State of Florida, OSHA, and other AHJ regulatorystandards all met for the plant operations department. Communicateoperational guidelines to staff so that information is disseminated uniformlyin a manner that promotes understanding and compliance. Communicatewith Director about emerging maintenance issues in a timely fashion. Inspectscompleted work for conformance to quality standards, specifications. Establishesor adjusts work procedures to meet organizational needs. Recommendschanges in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies. Supervisionof assigned employees including employee performance appraisal, initiation andrecommendation of salary changes, promotion, discharge, and all other personnelactions, establishing work schedules and assignments. Workwith outside authorities to monitor compliance with regulations pertaining tothe organization\u2019s facility; when compliance issues are identified, serves asthe lead staff member to remediate any issues. Complete andmaintain necessary documentation and reports for compliance. Interpretscompany policies to employees as needed and enforces safety regulations. Trainsand directs work of Maintenance Workers. Assistwith a portion of staff orientation related to facility operations for all newemployees. Motivatessupervisees to achieve goals through supervision, coaching, goal setting, andtraining. Keeptrack of the Kronos time reporting records and is responsible to approvepayroll time recording on the scheduled day and time of personnel assigned tothe position. Administersand maintains the Facilities Maintenance Program (TMA) and all preventivemaintenance procedures throughout his\/her area of responsibility. Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited college or university withmajor work and\/or degree in facilities construction management, architecture,engineering, or technical management. Five (5) or more years of industry experience in one of the maintenance\/construction trades.Experience in a Medical School facility setting is highly desirable.\u00a0The individual must possess valid motor vehicle operator\u2019s license as issued by the State prior to appointment. The person must maintain such valid license during tenure of employment.\u2022Must have excellent written and verbal English language communication skills in order to properly disseminate the required tasks descriptions needed to maintain University assets. \u2022Ability to successfully manage different projects at once and meet deadlines. \u2022Must have knowledge in the maintenance and management of buildings and facility systems; as well as knowledge in the preparation and administration of outside service contracts. \u2022Knowledge and experience with preventive maintenance procedures and routine for building and facilities equipment. \u2022Must be accessible and available in the event of emergencies or when needed to meet the ongoing missions of the University. \u2022This position will take charge of certain duties in preparation for hurricanes. Must be part of the recovery. Must be accessible and available in the event of emergencies or when needed to meet the ongoing missions of the University. \u2022Proficiency in managing a group of diverse activities and competing interests. Skill in leading, administering, managing and directing others in a service oriented environment. \u2022Skill in developing and maintaining internal and external relationship involving difficult, formal negotiations. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and\/or relevant work experience may be considered.
