The ideal candidate is a team player who will collaborate with ASIC designand product line groups to define and develop chip and system-levelarchitectures for complex mixed-signal and digital signal processing ASICs fortest and measurement products. Theengineer will be responsible to support the following activities under guidanceof senior team members: Working with product lines to define system and ASIC-level requirements based on product marketing requirements Development of ASIC and system macro-architecture and definition of HW\/SW use cases, including defining HW\/SW partitioning of architecture Modeling, simulation, and performance analysis and optimization of analog, mixed-signal, and DSP signal path in ASICs and system Analyze tradeoffs between performance, power\/area, cost, etc. to drive architecture decisions Development and optimization of system-level DSP algorithms and architecture of mixed signal circuits and DSP hardware functions in ASICs and FPGAs Developing specification documents and models at the system, chip, and block-levels Working with the ASIC design team to define block-level micro-architecture and support implementation activities Working with verification team to define block and system-level test plans and support verification activities Development of analog and mixed-signal calibration algorithms Post-SI system performance characterization\/validation and algorithm optimization Qualifications : Essential Requirements M.S.\/PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering Strong Academic references and GPA > 3.5\/4.0 Academic\/research background in Digital Signal Processing Theory Academic\/research background in IC development Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving skills Strong written\/verbal communication skills Experience with algorithm modeling and simulation in MATLAB\/Simulink Preferred Requirements Internship\/industry experience in IC or FPGA development a plus Exposure to analog and mixed-signal IC design Familiarity with standard system interfaces (SERDES, DDR, PCI, SPI etc.) Academic\/research backgrounds in the following areas: ADC and\/or DAC DSP correction algorithms, high speed electrical and\/or optical communication, high-speed NRZ and PAM4 SERDES designs Knowledge and applied use of Verilog or VHDL and verification tools\/methodology (including SystemVerilog and OVM) Experience with Python scripting language and SW development Due to US Department of Commerce export control regulations governing technical data of Tektronix products, Tektronix needs to know the citizenship of all its employees.
