The Project Manager will represent the healthcare client and its stakeholders in capital improvement projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation and retrofitting. This position coordinates, monitors and reports on design and construction activities.The Project Manager will work with client’s procurement services and facilities groups to administer consultant and construction agreements, coordinate, monitor and report on design and construction activities, facilitate quality control, and maintain design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities.This role acts as a liaison between the stakeholders and client’s corporate team, as well as between the construction team and external vendors. The Project Manager may manage small project delivery team staffs to provide coordinated expertise, standardized tools and project management recommendations.Experience & Qualifications:A minimum of 3-5 years project management experience in the delivery of health care facilities and related construction projects. Experience on projects including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, out patient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation desired. Must have been in responsible charge of the delivery of projects exceeding $5 million construction cost. Knowledge & Skills:Must be familiar with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation cost analysis, construction processes and procedures, and contract implementation.Must be familiar with the State of California building approval processes including OSHPD, the State Fire Marshall and municipal discretionary approvals, as well as JCAHO regulation.Must have expertise in project management techniques and software. Must be proficient with Microsoft Project.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure appropriate communications and coordination across project delivery team, stakeholders and vendors.Strong client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between stakeholders and corporate leadership.Able to manage and delegate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff.Experience in project management from design through final completion is required, and understanding of licensing on hospital projects is preferred.Familiarity with project management software and other programs such as Microsoft Word, Access and Excel is preferred. Education:Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent professional experience in the design and construction of hospitals and medical clinics.
