Job Summary Statement:
Under general supervision of the Director of Design & Project Management & Operations (DPMO), provide Computer Aided Design (CAD) services to Design & Project Management staff. Major functions include development of conceptual designs and construction documentation for minor capital renovations for Campus and CHS clients. Develop three-dimensional computer generated models for client presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Must have a working knowledge of a PC and skills using the following software: MicroSoft (MS) Windows, Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Auto CAD current release, 3-D Studio, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, etc., and any other software as necessary to ensure CAD services are as efficient and economical as possible.
Ability to retrieve, work on, and save an extensive existing library of CAD 2013 drawing files on the following formats: AutoCAD.
Ability to compose/author and present multimedia presentations, including moving computer equipment for interactive presentations and coordination with person(s)assisting in the presentations.
Working knowledge of CAD plotting to large format pen and ink-jet plotters, laser printers, and color printers, using various sizes of roll and cut sheet paper media, including different line weights, fill shades and scales. Change paper rolls in plotter.
Ability to interpret free-hand sketches of architectural designs and create CAD drawings in the form of three-dimensional models, two-dimensional floor plans, elevations, and details for construction working drawings.
For use in presentations, the ability to operate an electronic solid state camera that downloads photos directly to a computer serial port, and manipulate digital photographs to use as backgrounds to computer generated three-dimensional models, match perspective angels to achieve photo-realistic effects, enhance final images using photo re-touching software to further embellish the effects, and output to a high-end dye-sublimation color printer or color ink-jet plotter.
Demonstrated strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills.

Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignment, competing requirements, and/or heavy workload to meet deadlines.
Skill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, campus clients, PMs, plan checkers, and contractors.
Working knowledge of interior and architectural theory and practice.
General knowledge of engineering theory and principles as related to construction (structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, AV, civil, acoustical).
Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility codes, construction, and building techniques and requirements.
Ability to read and comprehend architectural/engineering drawings and prepare specifications.
Skill in reading legal and technical documents, contracts, agreements, and blueprints, test reports, and product literature.
Must possess a valid California Driver License, and ability to operate a motor vehicle in the course of performing duties.
Graduation from college with major work in architecture and four years of experience in architectural work, including two years of responsible planning and designing of major buildings; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid Architectural license.
