Profile

TheInterior Designer will lead real estate projects with accountability for the design of interior spaces in new developments and renovated existing buildings; meeting functional and aesthetic goals; researching and purchasing FFE; determining space requirements; and creating the most aesthetic appeal and functionality for the space

Requirements

Training/Education



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design from an accredited school
  • LEED Certification a plus
  • NCIDQ certification highly preferred




Experience/Skills



  • 3-5 years relative experience in interior design firm or architectural firm
  • Strong background in project management
  • Knowledge of building codes and structures
  • Computer skills must include Revit, AutoCad, Sketchup, Adobe Suite such as InDesign

Essential Functions



  • Manage one or more interior design projects collaborating with development managers, preconstruction, property management and construction through all phases of development and design through construction completion
  • Thorough understanding and preparation of commercial interior design projects from initial concept through construction document process
  • Responsible for interior design schedule, assembling the design team, executing contracts with Design Team, defining design program, unit finishes, amenity packages
  • Complete interior architectural space planning and design
  • Review and approve interior design scheme, layout and FF&E
  • Manage FF&E material selections and specifications
  • Manage all facets of project management (budget, schedule, scope, procurement (including long lead procurement items), quality and risk)
  • Prepare scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, milestones, quality control and risk identification for projects assigned
  • Conduct RFP’s, complete bid analysis, negotiate and administer contracts and purchase for FF&E
  • When utilizing external resources, manage the external interior design process through architects, consultants, contractors and vendors and assist in pricing as required
  • Track progress of each assigned project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines. Report status as well as variances to budget and schedule
  • Implement standard risk management routines, to identify project risks, and develop risk mitigation to reduce or eliminate project risks
  • Develop marketing/image presentations/boards
  • Coordination and management of consultants and reps including product, finish and furniture reps
  • Ensure that all Buckingham standard Finishes are followed and maintained
  • Ensure company policies, procedures and guidelines are complied with in a professional manner and are demonstrated in all oral and written communications
  • Willingness to travel on an“as needed” basis as dictated by performance goals, job description or as directed by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
