\r \r \r \r \r Apex Systems has a great contract opportunity for a Building Controls Engineer to work at a large global organization!  If interested, please send your resume to!\r\r\r\rRESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: \rUnder general direction, responsible for the design, configuration, and operation of complete \rbuilding control systems including fire, security, and other low voltage control sub-systems (ie \rlighting, nurse call, data networks, etc) to meet the intent of the project requirements. \r\rAccountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs. Develops complex \rsoftware programs, commissions and troubleshoots to ensure proper operations of the building \rcontrol system. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation tocustomers, consultants, field installation team and subcontractors. \r\rPRINCIPAL DUTIES: \r1. Designs and configures technically complex building control systems as defined by the \rcontract documents. Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network \rlayouts and electrical schematics as required. \r2. Develops and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per the intent of the \rproject requirements. \r3. Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and \rinstallation. \r4. Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates \rfactory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule. \r5. Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as \rrequired. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems \rwith subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. \r6. Provides field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings \rand software. \r7. Keeps management and contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. \r8. Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total building control \rsystem. \r9. Participates in release meeting with project field team. Performs value engineering to \rprovide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. \r10. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. \r\r\rREQUIREMENTS: \rBachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of three years experience, or an \rassociate degree in a related technical field with five years of relevant work experience required. \rDemonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry. Demonstrated knowledge of \rcontrol theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building \rsubsystems. Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems \rusing various industry protocols (i.e. LON, BacNet, etc). Ability to relate technical knowledge to \ra non-technical audience. Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly \rcomputer-related drafting tools.\r\r \r \r \r \r \r
