The Regional Planning Practice Lead is responsible for leading growth of the practice and ensuring that technical capabilities and processes align and support quality standards for the delivery of services. The Regional Practice Lead is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships, project management, generating additional opportunities with existing clients, and developing new clients. Additionally, he/she is responsible for supporting strategic pursuits as they may occur within the national portfolio.
*Lead, communicate, coordinate with the West Region Planning team of over 100 diverse planners
Lead business development for the planning practices (pursuit, client engagement, revenue growth)
*Lead strategic planning for the Practice focused on Federal, State, Local Agencies, and Private Markets and identifying strategic hires and targeted growth areas within the region.
*Coordinate staff participation/representation in key conferences - state and regional. Also coordinate participation in national conferences
* Leverage technical expertise to drive thought leadership by presenting at conferences, publishing research and whitepapers, participating in and serving as a leader for technical communities of practices and societies.
Monitor and improve QA/QC, current projects/clients, work share/workload
*Establish and utilize an expanded leadership team to assist and advise the West Region Planning Manager and National Planning Practice Lead
*Work with National Planning Lead and Regional Director to determine new growth service areas, new geography, etc.
*Monitor office and regional Planning Practice financial goals and metrics.
*PR campaign, client management, and greater outreach to growing our presence.
*Regular communications with Office, Regional, and National Leadership.
*15 years related experience
*Four-year degree in Urban Planning or related field, Master's degree preferred
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
*To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You must be capable of reviewing project technical work and providing direction and guidance to project personnel to resolve problems and ensure design and quality review procedures are being implemented.
*Candidates must demonstrate an ability to perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.
*Some travel is required with this position.
*Demonstrated client engagement experience.
*Effective communication skills, strategic thinker with initiative and leadership in the advancement of multi-disciplined services.
