The primary duties of the Mechanical Engineer is to coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project. Establishes meetings and participates in
reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. Is responsible to coordinate workload to complete the document on schedule. Conducts work sessions at project site in conjunction with Project Manager and other disciplines. Reviews mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines. Writes/edits mechanical specifications, selects
equipment, mechanical systems and devices. Coordinates and assists, with affected disciplines, with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders and is responsible to incorporate agreed upon changes into the project documents. Provides, on an as needed basis, construction contract administration. May conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Project Engineers, Mechanical Project Coordinators or Mechanical CAD Technicians.','!*!Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 3 - 8 years experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings
• Must currently be certified as a LEED, Green Globe, or ASHREA High Performance Buildings professional or be on track to become a certified sustainable professional
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
• Master's degree in Architectural Engineering with Mechanical emphasis
• Healthcare, Science and Technology and/or Civic facilities experience
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required.
