McMillan Pazdan Smith is seeking an IT Support Specialist who has completed coursework in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field to join our Greenville team. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute in a diverse and fun environment. McMillan Pazdan Smith has 220 employees across six locations in the South East. The IT Support Specialist will maintain and monitor end-user workstations and productivity on local area network and will perform a wide variety of maintenance, software installation, and end-user support to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet Firm and user requirements. Additionally, the IT Support Specialist will troubleshoot computer problems, determine the source, and advise on appropriate action.
Essential Functions
Administer end-user workstations, including mobile devices, and support end-user activities interacting face-to-face and utilizing remote access tools on a Microsoft Windows-based local area network
Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, and test and implement said solutions
Collaborate with technology team members in order to research problems and find solutions
Call software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products
Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, mobile devices, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; add or upgrade and configure disk drives, printers, and related equipment
Perform software and application installation/upgrades as needed
Utilize remote support software to provide assistance to team members at all office locations
Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network
Setup and assist with troubleshooting of video conferences
Assist with disaster recovery planning
Assist team members as a computer resource
Additional Responsibilities
Travel to other office locations as needed
Stay abreast of leading-edge hardware, software, network technologies, trends & regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance
Perform other duties as directed
Coursework in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, or related field
Experience with Windows 7 & Windows 10 operating systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel
Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and related hardware & software
Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to learn and support new systems and applications
Technical skills and experience in local & wide area networks
Excellent time management skills
Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Ability to provide excellent internal customer service
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Demonstrated culture awareness and sensitivity
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an architectural, engineering, or construction firm
Proficiency with Adobe Suite
Microsoft and/or Cisco Certifications
