We have a dynamic, creative culture that provides the tools to help individuals get their work done efficiently while emphasizing a team approach so the entire firm is successful.Key Responsibilities:The ideal candidate will have experience working with an architectural/engineering team for master planning and programing and design of justice centers and correctional facilities; and preparing documents for both new construction and renovations. Experience with projects that focus on rehabilitation and educational programs is needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for design work from developing concepts through construction documentation, and collaboration with various disciplines and consultants. Ability to meet with the clients during master planning and programming activities, and then prepare architectural drawings, utilizing a strong knowledge of correctional facility design standards is needed. Executes code analysis, material selections, and coordinates with specifications writer. May conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, programming, and preparation of design reports. Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and oversee the work of lower-level architects who assist.Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.STV is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.Required Skills:A Professional Degree in Architecture with 10-15 years of experience working as an architect on justice and correctional facility projects is preferred. Excellent design, presentation skills, both verbal and visual, and strong knowledge for generating technical details that are constructible is essential. Experienced with Revit, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office is needed. The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on client needs.Essential Duties Include:Determine collectively with project management, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.Data collection, interviews, and investigations for developing masterplans and space programs.Lead and coach junior architectural staffPerform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.Develop design details, plans and specifications.Serve as quality control reviewer.Contribute new designs, or techniques of material significance in the solution of important problems.Ensure conformance with correctional facility standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
