Summary Enterprise Architects partner with executive business leadership, IT Leadership, Engineers, Developers and to create a Technology Architecture Strategy and Plan that aligns investments in technology with business goals and strategies. They are the primary partner for executive leadership in technology discussions and planning. Level II - In addition to Level I responsibilities: Strong relationship development with all primary and secondary stakeholders Utilizes understanding of industry software trends to innovate and provide new project/product ideas within the investment lifecycle. Participates in governance mechanisms and ensure that deliveries exceed governance standards. Works with business architect(s) to provide deep understanding and integration of business and the technology strategy across the enterprise, to develop the models that best reflect the business strategy and that each business unit has effective architecture support. Works with infrastructure architect(s) to provide an enterprise infrastructure that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs and drives innovation and value throughout enterprise projects. Works with information architect(s) to provide strategic information usage, integration, storage and retrieval across the enterprise and that information supports distinct and provable business advantage. Works with solution architect(s) to provide enterprise software that is scalable, adaptable and in synchronization with ever changing business needs and drives innovation and value throughout enterprise projects. Develops technology strategy, future state architecture, and roadmap for the enterprise/business portfolio. Provides transparency to business stakeholders on the cost, benefit, risk and health of the technologies that support their business operations. Reviews Conceptual Solution Designs and Solution Design Scorecards with business sponsors to ensure agreement and alignment on approach and value. Provides leadership and/or representation to various technical standards groups, committees, and workgroups. Translates business opportunities into technical solution requirements. Evaluates vendors or contractors supplying software or infrastructure solutions or services. Ensures compliance with the Health Plan architecture and techniques. Works with Architects from the Data, Security, Infrastructure and Application domains to ensure cohesion across technology domains strategies and roadmaps. Actively contributes to, and participates in, key Architecture Governance activities such Architecture Review Board, Solution Design Review, Architecture Strategy Working Groups, Technology Acquisition Process and Disaster Recovery planning. Level III - In addition to Level II responsibilities: Analyzes industry, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services, to inform and influence business and IT direction. Acts as mentor to Level I EAs and Solution Architects. Acts as primary spokesperson on companys technical designs and future directions across multiple technology domains. Builds executive-level relationships to become a trusted advisor for technology strategies. Oversees the development of the Target Information Architecture for a business portfolio. Level II - in addition to Level I qualifications: 5 years of architecture experience. Ability to manage projects and staff. Proven influence/negotiation skills. Proven capacity to work independently and manage multiple, competing demands. Systems Thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the whole (big picture thinking). Customer service orientation. Time management and prioritization skills. Demonstrated delivery and architecture experience across at least three of the following: Application Design & Development Experience coding/designing solutions using advanced patterns such as microservices, service-oriented architecture, web services (SOAP and REST), API management, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures. Expertise leading teams in a DevOps environment. Understanding of integrated tools sets for automated DevOps and continuous releases. Data Management & Integration Experience with both common and emerging interoperability standards such as HL7 V2.x, (essential) as well as CCD, C - CDA XML V3, IHE profile, FHIR (desirable). Infrastructure Operations Possess knowledge on leading edge concepts in technology including virtualization, Containers, Security, Cloud Computing, Mobile. Security Business Architecture Experience working with frameworks like BIZBOK Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills to help in his/her interaction with a variety of stakeholders, ranging from developers to executives. Has developed very good facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills. Level III - requires similar qualifications as Level II, plus: Masters Degree in Business or Technology preferred; in lieu of Masters, an additional 2 years of architecture experience. 8 years of architecture experience. Minimum 5 years healthcare payer experience. Knowledge of the business for which the enterprise architecture is being developed. Experience developing software compliant with regulations of healthcare. Experience working with a broad range of technology vendors. Extensive knowledge of healthcare business domains. Experience in all primary architecture models and valuation techniques. Proved ability to stay abreast in industry and technology trends. Experience implementing new technologies into enterprise environments. Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand Knowledge of IT governance and operations. Extensive experience in all four specialization areas (business, information, infrastructure, software). Project and program management planning and organizational skills. Emotional intelligence - self-awareness, confidence, ability to manage conflict, empathy.
