Entry-level jobs in the field of architectural engineering include positions such as architectural assistant, architectural associate, archicad designer, cad draftsman, autocad designer, architectural executive, architectural intern, architectural engineer, and architect. Typical duties for different entry-level positions include, preparing architectural drawings, assisting the architect/ engineer, preparing 3D models on archicad/ autocad, making schematics of the building before a model has to be developed, getting the models approved from architects or engineers, and performing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
An entry-level position in architectural engineering requires an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. Excellent academic credentials are an advantage for entry-level architectural engineering positions. Strong technical know-how is essential. Familiarity with MS Word and Excel may be required for some entry-level positions.
