Demands for a landscape architect are still high even with the fact that real estate business is still unstable. This is because landscape architect jobs do not only focus in real estate but in other businesses as well.

It is typical for people to enjoy and relax in attractively designed gardens, playgrounds, school campuses, public parks, shopping centers, golf courses, parkways and residential areas. With the help of landscape architects, these areas are designed to be functional, beautiful and harmonious with nature.

There are about 21% of landscape architects who are self-employed and a typical day for them is meeting with clients either to make a proposal or to get the approval for their landscape designs. Landscape architects also spend time visiting the site for their clients and study the area to make the best landscape design possible for that area. Architectural jobs include planning for the best location of the buildings, roads, walkways and the arrangement of trees, flowers and shrubs.

Architectural job does not only focus in landscaping, they also collaborate with foresters, scientists and other professionals in finding the best possible way to restore and conserve natural resources. In planning a site, a landscape architect first considers the purpose of the project and the available funds, then play around with it by planning thoroughly the location and the design that will fit within the budget.

Once all considerations have been settled, their next job is to draft the landscape design using computer-aided design (CAD). Landscape designing is not that easy, most of the time there are frequent revisions before the final design took place. Landscape architect also consults other professionals such as civil engineers, building architects, hydrologists and other professionals involved in the project.

Architectural career is one of the most promising professions. There are good opportunities waiting. One project may lead to another especially if you satisfy your clients. Although good opportunities are expected, new graduates may face high competition especially in prestigious architectural companies.
